Aloha Dearest Family,

In the movie "National Treasure", Nicholas Cage goes in search of hidden treasure by following clues left behind by past generations. By perseverance (and plenty of adventure) he succeeds in finding a treasure beyond anything he had dreamed of.

Likewise, the wisdom and knowledge of God are hidden in God's Word,
"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 3:2 and 3)
The word "hid" in this verse infers that to find all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge we need to do a little searching. But can we really find the wisdom and knowledge of God? Is this even available to us to find? Let's look at Deuteronomy 29:29,
"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law."
There are some things that God has kept secret, but the things that God has revealed are for us and our children. So how do we find these things that God has revealed? Proverbs 2:1-5 starts to show us how,
"My son, if you will receive my words and treasure my commandments within you, so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding. Yea, if thou cry after knowledge, and lift up thy voice for understanding  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures, then shalt thou understand the fear (reverence)of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.."
So it is possible to find the knowledge of God. But first we must "seek".
Jesus said,
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
What things will be added unto you? In the context, he is talking about the things that we put on for clothes, the things that we eat and drink. In other words, the things that we need. If we seek God and His righteousness "first" then we will have our needs taken care of. But first we must "seek". Let's find out what else Jesus said about seeking.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."
God has revealed to us great hidden treasures in His Word and if we simply seek them out we will find them. God's Word reveals to us His primary Will for mankind, His perfect plan of redemption through His son Jesus Christ, as well as His desire to have a family with children that he could fellowship with. If we want to find out all of the greatness of what God has made in us, we will have to come to His Word, the Bible.
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth . For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:1-3)
Our lives are "hid" with Christ in God and if we want to know about the greatness of this life we have to “seek".

You can find this principle in all aspects of God's creation. In Matthew 6:26 Jesus says,
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?"
Jesus said that God feeds the fowls of the air. How? Do the birds just sit in their nests and God just drops down something for them to eat? No. They have to go and seek their food. God makes the food available, but they have to go out and search for it.

God's greatness is not hard to find. He has made it very plain. But it takes desire on our part to discover the hidden treasures that are beyond our wildest dreams
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)
Love Always, Ray
